Mick Durkin appointed Quickits Group General Manager
The Quickits Group is pleased to announce the internal promotion of Mick Durkin to Group General Manager. Mick has been with the company since its formation in 2005 and has a wealth of knowledge and experience within the valve and actuator industry.
During the past twelve years in his previous role as Sales Manager Mick has been the driving force of the sales team and has been successful in increasing annual sales by 30% year on year working alongside and assisting the management team at QK HQ.
During the years 2015 and 2016 and like most other businesses in the valve and actuator industry the QK Group experienced a decline in project orders mainly due to the low oil price. Rather than dwell on this somewhat negative element the QK management decided to use the time to focus on moving the business forward.
In June 2016 Laser Limited was founded and became part of the group allowing sister company Quickits Limited to offer an in-house laser cutting and fabrication service which has proven to be very successful.
Mick’s new role as Group GM will focus on business growth and improved efficiency and with future planned projects already well in motion there are some exciting times ahead for the QK Group.
Commenting on his new position Mick says, “Having been with Quickits from day one and being part of a continually growing business I am very much looking forward to focusing on the new projects that we have planned. Our business is self-sufficient due to the continuous investment programme and as such allows us to offer the best levels of quality and service in the industry. We operate on a global scale supplying and servicing over 1000 customers as a group. Our current plans should see an increase in sales in the region of 25% this year with additional, new and exciting products and services on the horizon”
